Edgewater Drive Phase II Improvements

Edgewater Drive Phase II Improvements

SED designed and permitted this two mile long, 2 lane segment of Edgewater Drive in Port Charlotte, Florida, to a four lane divided with landscape median, arterial corridor.

The design and permitting of the Edgewater project started in 2009 with the award for design to SED. The project had a lengthy design and permitting time period due to three bridge replacements, environmental impacts and impaired waterway stormwater treatment requirements. Construction of the improvements started in January of 2015 and is expected to be complete in July of 2017.

SED designed the roadway and stormwater improvements and directed a team of sub-consultants for the design of the bridges, underground utilities, lighting and landscaping. This project included four roundabouts and a fully signalized intersection.

SED is currently performing Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) as representative of Charlotte County for the complete construction of this roadway project.
